MR. OLUSEGUN ADEPOJU, (B.Sc., M.Sc, FEPIN, FAEMI, FAERI)
Director, Research, Publications & Knowledge Management
Mr. Olusegun Adepoju is a seasoned geospatial scientist and environmental researcher whose career spanning over two decades in GIS, cartography, and spatial data management has equipped him with a powerful toolkit for driving EPIN's research, publications, and knowledge management agenda. His directorial mandate ensures that the Institute remains at the intellectual forefront of environmental management practice in Nigeria and beyond.
He holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Geography and Planning (1996) and an M.Sc. in Geography with specialisation in Hydrology and Remote Sensing (1999), both from the University of Lagos — a consistent academic home that has produced some of Nigeria's finest spatial scientists. His early career at the Laboratory for Cartography and Remote Sensing (LABCARS), University of Lagos, as a Resource Person (1998–2002) provided a strong research foundation that he has built upon across subsequent industry roles.
Mr. Adepoju's project portfolio is extensive: Landuse/Landcover and Change Detection Mapping for the Niger Delta Environmental Survey (NDES) with Unilag Consult; Urban Based Services GIS/GPS field mapping exercises for FGN-UNICEF; Road Network Mapping and Railway Corridor Survey for the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA); Urban Digital Image Mapping of urban centres for Kwara State Government; and Delineation of Nigeria's Urban, Sub-Urban and Rural Centres for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) — among many others. He has served as GIS Project Manager and Business Development Officer at AAC Consulting, and is currently a GIS Consultant at Daimler Geographics.
As Director of Research, Publications and Knowledge Management, Mr. Adepoju stewards EPIN's intellectual output — coordinating the Institute's research agenda, managing its flagship publications, curating its environmental knowledge repository, and positioning EPIN as Nigeria's primary authority on environmental management knowledge production.
